Sri Lanka, July 30 -- A discussion to address existing shortcomings and improve management of the Kalmunai public market was held recently at the Kalmunai Municipal Council.

During the discussion it was said that roadside trading activities on streets surrounding the market were seriously inconveniencing both motorists and consumers. A decision was taken, with the consent of traders, to prohibit roadside trading completely before July 31.

All traders currently operating along the roadside have been instructed to relocate their businesses inside the designated market area within the given period.
