Sri Lanka, Dec. 18 -- The Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka has issued a warning regarding the spillage of several reservoirs due to continued heavy rainfall.Sri Lanka travel

According to the Authority, the main reservoirs in the Mahaweli Basin - Victoria, Randenigala, and Rantambe - have already begun releasing water. The flow from Rantambe Reservoir into the Mahaweli River via the Minipe Anumana may increase depending on ongoing rainfall. Other reservoirs, including Loggaloya, Diyabana Oya, Hepola Oya, Ulhitiya, and Badulu Oya, also feed directly into the Mahaweli River, which could result in rising river levels in lower valley areas. Residents in these areas have been urged to remain alert and vigilant.
