Sri Lanka, May 11 -- The revised electricity tariffs for the second and third quarters of 2026 are set to take effect from today (11).

Under the revision, electricity charges were set to increase by around 8% to 14.4%.

Amid rising fuel costs and higher electricity generation expenses, the National System Operator (Pvt) Ltd submitted an updated cost proposal to the PUCSL on April 27, seeking a tariff adjustment.
