Sri Lanka, Aug. 19 -- Sri Lanka's emerging sports star and talented young golfer, Revaan Amarasinghe of S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia, proved his class on the tennis court once again when he clinched his second straight Under-12 Boys' Singles title at the 111th National Tennis Championship powered by YETI, held at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts in Colombo yesterday.
The country's top-ranked Under-12 player, Amarasinghe, who won last year's crown by defeating Shanon Senadheera, lived up to his billing with a straight-sets victory in this year's final. The 11-year-old held his nerve to beat Nuren Wavita 6-4, 6-3, displaying consistency and strong baseline play.
