Sri Lanka, July 3 -- The Horana Special Task Force (STF) stated that a retired Army (Special Forces) soldier was arrested on July 1 in the Handapangoda area with a stock of narcotics worth nearly Rs. 10 million.

Along with the suspect, they seized 50 grams of Ice (methamphetamine), 10 grams of heroin, and 526 grams of hashish in his possession. The raid was conducted following a long-term investigation carried out by the Special Task Force.

It has also been revealed that this suspect had been arrested a few years ago for possession of a T-56 firearm, as well as for possession and trafficking of narcotics.

Steps have been taken to hand over the 44-year-old suspect, a resident of the Handapangoda area, to the Ingiriya Police.
