Sri Lanka, Oct. 8 -- The Registrar of the Asgiri Chapter, Ven. Medagama Dhammananda Thera said the steps taken by prison officials to remove the robes of Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera, who was imprisoned after being sentenced by the court, when he was presented before the court again, cannot be approved and that this may set a wrong precedent.

The Thera said that there is no problem with the punishment given by court for an offence and that the problem is with the removal of Ven.Gnanasara Thera's robe without regard to his will or reluctance.
