Sri Lanka, Oct. 17 -- Sri Lankan women's champion shuttler Ranithma Liyanage continued her impressive form by defeating Indian shuttler Rakshitha Santhosh in straight sets to reach the women's singles quarterfinals at the Yonex Sunrise BWF World Junior Badminton Championship, held at the National Centre of Excellence in Amingaon, Guwahati, India, yesterday.

It was a competitive battle between 18-year-old Ranithma, ranked 92 in the world, and Indian high-ranked Rakshitha, ranked 42. However, Ranithma controlled the pre-quarterfinal match, winning 15-11, 15-9 in back-to-back sets. The match lasted 33 minutes, earning her a place in the quarterfinals of this prestigious world junior women's singles event.
