Sri Lanka, Oct. 25 -- Sri Lanka and Pakistan's Women's World Cup match ended with no result due to persistent rain yesterday at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, with both teams sharing a point each in what was their final group-stage encounter.
The game, delayed by rain, eventually began at 6:15 p.m. and was reduced to 34 overs per side. Pakistan, invited to bat first, reached 18 for no loss in 4.2 overs before rain interrupted play again. The umpires officially called off the match at 8:06 p.m., resulting in no result.
Sri Lanka, hoping to end their World Cup campaign on a high note, were left disappointed as rain washed out their third match of the tournament.
