Sri Lanka, Oct. 4 -- The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has announced that it will issue its decision on the proposal submitted by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) regarding a revision of electricity tariffs by the end of the second week of this month.
The CEB submitted its request to the PUCSL in September last year, seeking approval for a 6.8 percent increase in electricity tariffs. In line with regulatory procedure, the PUCSL initiated a series of public consultations to gather the views of electricity consumers across the country before arriving at a final decision.
The oral public comment period commenced in the Eastern Province on September 18 and subsequently covered all other provinces of the island. To date,...
