Sri Lanka, July 27 -- An appeal has been made to the public to refrain from bathing at the Panadura beach.

Around 10 individuals who were bathing at the Panadura beach were admitted to the Panadura Base Hospital after suffering injuries from coming into contact with jellyfish. It is reported that four young children are among the injured.

Hospital sources stated that the victims have since discharged themselves after receiving treatment.

Nearly 300 small jellyfish have washed ashore on the Panadura beach, and those bathing during the Sunday (26) holiday sustained injuries upon coming into contact with them.
