Sri Lanka, June 25 -- The "Social Media Minimum Age Bill" was handed over to the Secretary General of Parliament yesterday by Opposition MP Faiszer Musthapha.

The main objective of this Bill is to restrict children's access to social media and protect them from exposure to harmful online content.

This has been presented as a Private Member's Bill proposed in Parliament seeking to restrict access to social media platforms for children under 16 in Sri Lanka.
