Sri Lanka, June 23 -- Private bus operators are not prepared to reduce bus fares for the next six months, even if the price of diesel decreases in the upcoming price revision, Gemunu Wijeratne, President of the Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association said yesterday.

The annual bus fare revision for this year is likely to come into effect from July 3, according to Wijeratne.

He noted that while the annual bus fare revision typically takes effect on July 1 each year, consideration is being given to delaying the decision by two days to take into account the monthly fuel price revision scheduled for the beginning of July.
