Sri Lanka, Aug. 8 -- Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananda Wijepala informed Parliament that the unrest that has recently occurred inside several prisons in the country are not a threat to national security and revealed that authorities suspect the incidents may be linked to a planned act of sabotage and a possible conspiracy according to intelligence reports received and investigations carried out so far.Prisons & Corrections

He said that the pattern of disturbances has raised suspicions that there may be a coordinated and disruptive operation behind the incidents, but emphasized that a full investigation is required before any final conclusions can be reached.
