Sri Lanka, June 22 -- Health, education, children's and women's rights, and the right to a livelihood must also become fundamental rights, the Opposition and Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Leader Sajith Premadasa said on Saturday.
Premadasa, who was speaking at a donation under the SJB's "Husma" programme where the Kandy District Samagi Tharuna Balawegaya (Youth Front) donated a hemodialysis machine worth Rs. 4.8 million to the Kandy National Hospital, said that while our country's Constitution outlines how the rights of citizens are protected, these are included as civil and political rights under Chapter 3 on Fundamental Rights.
