Sri Lanka, May 18 -- Asgiriya Chapter Registrar Most Ven. Madagama Dhammananda Thera said all the Mahanayake Theras of all Chapters have called for immediate amendments to the Temporalities Ordinance.

Ven. Dhammananda Thera emphasised that the Mahanayaka Theras and the Karaka Sangha Sabhas of the respective Nikayas have long been requesting amendments to the Buddhist Temporalities Ordinance to facilitate the expulsion of undisciplined monks from the Sasana. He said that although the Registrar Thera's of the three main Buddhist Chapters met with the 23 monks who carried narcotics from Thailand and suggested that they disrobe, the monks refused the proposal.
