Sri Lanka, Feb. 18 -- The Rotaract and Interact Clubs of District 3220 Sri Lanka and Maldives organised a pre-Ramadan charity fair 'Souq of Hope' at Hyde Park Grounds, Colombo, on Saturday (14) to raise funds for refugees in Gaza.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Speaker Dr. Rizvie Salih and Palestine Ambassador to Sri Lanka Ihab I. M. Khalil, along with Ambassador designate to Palestine Fawzer Farook and Rotaract Youth Advisor Marshad Barry were present. The organisers said, "While we gather here in peace, laughter, and unity, thousands of families elsewhere in the world are waking up to uncertainty, loss, and survival in Gaza; the ongoing humanitarian crisis has taken a devastating toll."
