In a statement issued by the Police Media Division on Saturday, police said they had observed attempts by certain individuals to stockpile fuel in cans, barrels and other external containers due to concerns over the current unstable situation in the Middle East.
Quoting the statement, police noted that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has confirmed that sufficient fuel reserves are available in the country and that there is no need for the public to panic.
