Sri Lanka, Oct. 27 -- A tragic road accident claimed the life of a Police sergeant last evening in the Adawelayaya area along the Wellawaya-Thanamalwila road.

Police reports indicate that an Army bus traveling toward Wellawaya collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist, a 36-year-old Police sergeant from Wellawaya, was pronounced dead upon arrival at Wellawaya Hospital.

His body has been kept at the hospital morgue as Wellawaya Police continue their investigation into the incident.
