Sri Lanka, Sept. 20 -- Love story

This is the eternal, unvanishable, ever-remembered love story. Dead before, in time to come, the love story that gave birth through the pores of blood.

Even though for a momentous time unchanged is the tale told in the love story. This indeed is the love story that wipes the tears that give way to grief.

This is the love story of the God, who descended for the sake of humans, crucified.

- Professor Sunanda Mahendra (Translated from the Sinhala poem titled Premakathawa in the collection of poems by Kingsley Loos titled Sanda Veneema. This collection of Sinhala poems will be launched on September 23 at the Sri Lanka Library Services Board Auditorium at 3 pm.)
