Sri Lanka, Oct. 17 -- The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) Director has been transferred in connection with an ongoing investigation against him.

According to Police Headquarters sources, the allegations against the SSP include misappropriation of Rs.5 million meant to be given to informants, administrative shortcomings, and failure to properly conduct drug raids over a three-month period.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has already launched an investigation into the misuse of Rs.5 million. The Police Commission has been notified of the matter on September 25, 2025, and the transfer order has been issued on Wednesday, October 15.
