Sri Lanka, Oct. 4 -- The Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations were held at Temple Trees, to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on Thursday (2). The event was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, together with the High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha. A flower garlanding ceremony was conducted before the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, paying tribute to his enduring legacy of peace, non-violence and humanity.The ceremony was attended by officials from the Indian High Commission and the Prime Minister's Office.
