Srilanka, Oct. 11 -- In Sri Lanka, non-communicable diseases are on the rise, and among them, cancer stands out as one of the most life-threatening conditions. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women both worldwide and in Sri Lanka.
Every October, the world marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, often called the Pink Month, dedicated to raising awareness and encouraging early detection. According to health officials, about 15 women in Sri Lanka are diagnosed with breast cancer every day, and around three women die daily from the disease.
