Sri Lanka, June 19 -- Initial investigations by the Nuwara Eliya Police Criminal Investigation Division have revealed that the deceased woman, whose body was found in a car near Theldeniya Hospital in Kandy on June 17, had stayed at a hotel in Nuwara Eliya with her boyfriend for several days on two separate occasions.
A security officer at the hotel informed the Police that the suspect and the victim had originally arrived at the facility on June 2 and left on June 10. The woman had subsequently returned alone on June 16. Around 9 p.m. the following day, the suspect arrived in a rented car, told the security personnel that his wife was ill and had carried her out of the premises, settled the bill and drove away with her.
