Persons with disabilities must enjoy same rights as everyone else - PM
Sri Lanka, July 13 -- The inaugural ceremony of the Sarasavi Diriyo Abhiman, a scholarship programme implemented by the President's Fund for students with disabilities studying at Sri Lanka's State universities who have not allowed physical limitations to stand in the way of their educational aspirations, was held at Temple Trees with Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya in attendance at Temple Trees on Saturday (11).
Under this programme, all students with disabilities currently studying at State universities in Sri Lanka are recognised, with the President's Fund providing each student with a one-off scholarship grant of Rs. 100,000.
