Sri Lanka, July 9 -- The main access road leading to the Palaly Rajarajeshwari Amman Temple in Jaffna will be opened to the public during the temple's annual Mahotsava festival for devotees to travel to the temple.

The road's re-opening follows a request local residents made to the Government and the Sri Lanka Army.

Residents appealed to Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekar and requested the main road to the temple be re-opened for public use during the annual religious festival.
