Sri Lanka attracted over 1.6 million tourists so far this year, according to the latest figures released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. According to the report, a total of 1,609,759 tourists arrived in the country between January 1 and September 14.

India remains the leading source of tourist arrivals so far this year, with 408,024 Indian nationals visiting Sri Lanka with 155,798 tourists from the United Kingdom and 105,294 from China.
