Sri Lanka, July 10 -- Three suspects were arrested with more than 15,000 cannabis plants during a special operation conducted by the Central Province Excise Special Operations Unit in the Hambegamuwa area of Thanamalwila on Wednesday (8).

The raid was carried out based on intelligence received by the Central Province Excise Special Operations Unit.

During the operation, officers destroyed more than 15,000 cannabis plants cultivated on the plantation. The suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Wellawaya Magistrate's Court.
