Sri Lanka, Sept. 15 -- More than 1,000 countrywide raids have been carried out on electrical and electronic goods, with over 1,150 items seized this year.
This includes a total of 204 raids conducted under a recent special programme by the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA).
Over 1,150 electrical and electronic items have been seized by the CAA as case material or taken into official custody with legal action being initiated against the suspects responsible, during the 204 special raids carried out on trading establishments countrywide from August 25 to 29 and on September 8 and 9 based on information gathered during initial search operations.
