Sri Lanka, Oct. 21 -- The Supreme Court has issued an open warrant for the arrest of former Minister Premalal Jayasekara after he failed to appear before court today(21).Track Exec Orders

A three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena and comprising Justices Achala Wengappuli and Gihan Kulatunga, directed the Criminal Investigation Department to execute the warrant and instructed the Inspector General of Police to take immediate steps to enforce it.

Deputy Solicitor General Janaka Bandara, appearing for the Attorney General, informed the court that Jayasekara is currently overseas. The two other defendants who appeared before court were ordered to be remanded.
