Sri Lanka, Oct. 22 -- A bus accident on the Mannar-Medawachchiya main road early this morning (22) has left one person dead and 10 others injured.

Police reported that the accident occurred between kilometers 35 and 36 when the driver of a private bus traveling from Colombo to Mannar lost control and collided with a tree by the roadside.

The deceased has been identified as a 29-year-old resident of Murunkan, Asikulam.

The injured, including eight men and two women, are receiving treatment at Mannar and Vavuniya hospitals. The bus driver is also hospitalized with injuries.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Settikulam Hospital mortuary, and Parayanalankulam Police are conducting further investigations into the incident....
