Srilanka, June 15 -- Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, states that 13,600 personnel will be recruited for the nursing service within the next three years.

The Minister further noted that these recruitments will be carried out in several phases with the aim of further elevating the quantitative and qualitative standards of the healthcare sector.

The Minister made these remarks yesterday (14) while participating as the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the Accident and Emergency Treatment Unit and the modernised laboratory at the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital. Rs.82 million had been spent on these projects.
