Sri Lanka, Dec. 24 -- The long-standing problem of deep-sea fishermen in Valaichchenai has been resolved by NPP MP Kandasamy Prabhu.

Fishermen in the Valaichchenai area of the Batticaloa district are facing various difficulties and losses due to the lack of special monitoring equipment that accurately and automatically displays all the details, including the safety of the boats engaged in deep-sea fishing, their location and speed of travel.

This issue, as well as other challenges faced by fishermen in Valaichchenai, was brought to the attention of MP Kandasamy Prabhu by the fishermen's organisation, and through his efforts, steps have been taken to address the requests of the fishermen in the area through the Fisheries Ministry.
