Sri Lanka, June 22 -- There is absolutely no need to increase medicine prices at this moment, Health Deputy Minister, Hansaka Wijemuni said.

He stated that, while businessme have requested a price hike for medicines, they do so almost out of habit.

Speaking to the media after an event held at the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital, Deputy Minister Hansaka Wijemuni further expressed the following: "We anticipated a certain rise in dengue patients this year. Because of that, there was advanced preparation to control the spread of the disease. We are noticing a slight mutation in the virus. As a result, there appears to be a trend where reported cases are somewhat increasing.
