Sri Lanka, Oct. 21 -- Health and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa told Parliament today that the government has not taken any decision to remove the identification passes displayed on vehicles belonging to lawyers and doctors.

He made this statement in response to a question raised by Member of Parliament Rohitha Abeygunawardena.

Minister Jayatissa further clarified that neither the Department of Motor Traffic nor the Police have made any such decision. He added that the use of special identification passes helps facilitate the duties and responsibilities of professionals such as doctors and lawyers.
