Sri Lanka, July 15 -- The National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) has implemented a number of programmes this year for low-income families, estate communities, and government employees in the Galle district, NHDA Galle District Manager R. Indika Prasad said.
He said that 370 houses are currently being constructed in the district under the 'Your Own Place, A Beautiful Life' (Thamangema Thenak, Lassana Jeewithayak) programme and that the NHDA will provide financial assistance of Rs. 1 million for each house.
Indika Prasad also pointed out that these houses were being constructed by the beneficiaries under the participatory development programme and that the value of each house after construction would be about Rs. 4 million.
