Sri Lanka, April 7 -- Major General K.V.N.P. Premaratne of the Sri Lanka Army assumed duties as the Deputy Chief of Staff, the third most senior appointment in the Army, yesterday (06) at Army Headquarters.Beaches & Islands

He took over the post during a brief ceremony held amidst religious blessings, where he signed the official documents marking the acceptance of his appointment.

Prior to this appointment, Major General Premaratne held several key positions within the Army, including serving as the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

Principal Staff Officers, Directors, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks attended the occasion and extended their best wishes to the newly appointed Deputy Chief of Staff.
