New regulations drafted to strengthen internal auditing, prevent waste, corruption in public sector
Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- The government has taken steps to implement a special programme, in collaboration with the World Bank and the Institute of Internal Auditors, to enhance financial discipline and the internal audit process within Sri Lanka's public institutions.
Accordingly, a discussion regarding the strengthening of public financial discipline and internal auditing is scheduled to be held next Friday between the World Bank's Head of Operations for Asia and officials from the Sri Lankan government and the Ministry of Finance.
