Sri Lanka, July 3 -- The Most Venerable Narampanawe Ananda Thera, Deputy Chief Prelate of the Asgiri Chapter of the Maha Vihara tradition of the Siyam Maha Nikaya, has been appointed as the new Chancellor of the Kelaniya University.

The letter of appointment was presented to the Most Ven. Narampanawe Ananda Thera by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (2).
