Sri Lanka, Oct. 21 -- The National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) has warned of a heightened risk of dengue outbreaks due to ongoing rains across Sri Lanka.

So far, over 40,000 dengue cases have been reported in several districts, including Gampaha, Kalutara, Galle, Matara, Kandy, Kegalle, Ratnapura, Batticaloa, and Jaffna.

The NDCU urges the public to maintain a clean and safe environment to prevent mosquito breeding and reduce the spread of dengue.
