Sri Lanka, Oct. 15 -- According to reliable information received during the intensive naval operations conducted by the Sri Lanka Navy to prevent the importation of drugs into the country in order to ensure a secure country, on the morning of 14th October 2025, during a special search operation conducted in the southern seas, fifty-one (51) bags containing a stock of 839 kilograms of heroin, ice and hash drugs that had been abandoned in the said sea area were seized by the Navy.
The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara and the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda participated in the inspection of the drug stock brought to the Tangalle Fishery Port.
