Sri Lanka, Jan. 6 -- Former Member of Parliament Navin Dissanayake has been appointed as a Vice Chairman of the United National Party (UNP), according to an official announcement by the party.

The appointment has been made under Article 8.1.1(c) of the UNP Constitution for the year 2026, the notification stated.

The UNP Working Committee has recommended Dissanayake's appointment, which will take effect from January 3, 2026.
