Sri Lanka, June 9 -- Addressing the inauguration of a three-day special National Mosquito Control programme from the Colombo Municipal Council premise, Mayor of Colombo, Vraie Cally Balthazaar yesterday said that public support is essential to control the dengue menace in the country.

Speaking at the event, Colombo Mayor Vraie Cally Balthazaar pointed out that special attention should be paid to government institutions and development sites, including 150 schools in Colombo.

She also appreciated the contribution of the tri-forces, police, government institutions and health sector personnel to this programme .
