Sri Lanka, Aug. 23 -- Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa cautioned the government not to resort to further repression, warning that he too has a limit to his patience.

Speaking at the Gamin Gamata program in Aluthgama today (23), Rajapaksa claimed that political arrests are being carried out as a means to cover up allegations currently leveled against the government.

He further emphasized that the country's issues cannot be resolved by arresting state leaders.

Criticizing the JVP, Rajapaksa stated that its leaders "neither have a generation to safeguard nor a country to protect," whereas his political camp has both a generation and a nation to protect.
