Namal's Krrish deal case trial fixed for July 7
SriLanka, May 30 -- A case filed against MP Namal Rajapaksa in connection with allegedly criminal misappropriation of Rs.70 Mn through the Krrish deal, was yesterday fixed for trial on July 7 by the Colombo High Court.
The case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Nadee Aparna Suwandurugoda.
The Attorney General had filed an indictment against Namal Rajapaksa alleging that he committed criminal misappropriation by receiving Rs.70 million from the Indian Krrish Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. company under the pretext of promoting rugby in Sri Lanka.
The Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) had previously reported the facts to the Fort Magistrate's Court regarding this incident. Namal Rajapaksa was arrested as a suspect in the...
