SriLanka, Nov. 15 -- Namal Rajapaksa, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP, met with Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchchi (ITAK) General Secretary M.A. Sumanthiran to brief him on the public rally being organised by the opposition against the National People's Power (NPP) government.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Rajapaksa said the discussion focused on the government's failure to deliver on its promises and the key issues the opposition plans to highlight at the rally.

Although ITAK will not participate in the protest, Rajapaksa said it was important to keep the party informed as a key element of the opposition.
