Sri Lanka, Feb. 17 -- The first phase of cleaning the railway track from the rear end of St. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia to the end of the Berjaya Hotel was done on February 7.

The clean-up was a part of the tourism initiative "A Prosperous Country- A Beautiful Life," which is being promoted under the guidance of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Officers from the Transport and Highways Ministry, the Ratmalana Regional Development Committee, the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Municipal Council and the Railways Department organised and took part in the clean-up.
