Sri Lanka, Aug. 12 -- A 63-year-old mother and her 43-year-old son were killed when the motorcycle they were travelling on collided with a bus in the Damanayaya area of Bakamuna early yesterday morning, Police said.
The deceased have been identified as K. M. Sriyalatha, 63, and her son H. A. Sriyananda, 43, residents of Damanayaya, Bakamuna.
Sriyananda's one-year-old son sustained serious injuries in the accident and was admitted to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital for treatment. Another child, about nine years old, was also travelling on the motorcycle at the time of the accident.
