Sri Lanka, Aug. 21 -- The Ministry of Energy has taken steps to modernize the electricity transmission system, targeting multiple benefits such as making electricity distribution more efficient, minimizing outages and facilitating the integration of renewable energy into the national system.
While participating in an inspection tour of 2 new substations that have been completed under the National Transmission and Distribution Network Development and Efficiency Promotion Project (Package 02 Grid Substation), Minister of Energy Kumara Jayakody instructed the relevant authorities recently to make the power transmission system modernization programme efficient.
