Sri Lanka, Feb. 6 -- The Fisheries Ministry has called for an impartial and transparent investigation into a brutal attack on Sri Lankan fishermen in international waters, Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekar said on Tuesday.
The Minister visited the Colombo National Hospital on Tuesday (3) to inquire into the condition of fishermen who were injured in the attack and are currently receiving treatment.
According to the Ministry, four fishermen aboard the multi-day fishing vessel Sithum Putha 04 (IMUL-A 0852 CHW) were assaulted by an unidentified group while operating in international waters.
