Medical laboratory in Negombo sealed for using expired chemicals
Sri Lanka, July 16 -- A medical laboratory in the Negombo area has been sealed by the Gampaha District Office of the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) after inspectors discovered that expired chemical reagents were being used to conduct blood sugar and cholesterol tests. During the special inspection operation, one suspect was arrested along with the expired chemicals.
Consumer Affairs Authority's Gampaha District Office Head Udaya Namalgama, the suspect was released on bail and is scheduled to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate's Court today (16).
